Monroe, N.C. (Tuesday, November 4, 2008) - In last Saturday afternoon’s Nationwide Series event at the Texas Motor Speedway, Team JVC Everio driver Derrike Cope wheeled his No. 4 Chevy to a solid 34th-place finish. The result comes with just two races remaining on the schedule.
With only five cautions slowing the pace of the event, it was critical for teams to have their cars handling right from the start. Rolling off the grid from the 39th starting position, Cope and Team JVC Everio steadily worked their way up the running order during the course of the event.
Avoiding the early attrition with plagued several contenders, Cope continued on pace as he and his team continued their competitive run in the “Lone Star” state. Strong pitwork by Team JVC assisted Cope in his quest for a strong result. Avoiding a pair of late-race incidents occurring with less than 20 laps remaining, Cope brought home the 34th-place result.
Team JVC Everio and the rest of the Nationwide Series will head further west for this Saturday’s race at the Phoenix Int’l Raceway. It’s the penultimate race for the Nationwide Series as the season winds to a close.
